Seat adjustments

I have power drivers seat in my 06 Mega and it only has fore and aft function these days. Is there a common failure on these things? I assume I need to pull the seat power it up and check the switches and then replace either the switch or the motor, ideas?

thanks you

This isn't specific to mega cabs, but occasionally I have seen seat motors get jammed at the end of their travel. You might be able to give the motor's shaft a little turn manually to get it freed up again.

Is the motor running for the tilt and lift? (Don't know if you have both or not) If so then it's not jammed and most likely the gear is stripped.
If stripped then try these guys: Two Men One Garage | Richmond Hill, GA 31324

I replaced my tilt motor a couple of years ago and it works great now.

If neither the tilt or lift works then it's probably a switch, wiring or connector issue.

When I got my truck the rear tilt (butt) motor was shot. Ended up finding surplus seat motors that were close enough for me, $13 each. Just needed to cut 1-2" off the end of the shaft, and maybe crimp some spade terminals on to connect it. I ended up changing it just by pulling the cushion and drilling out the roll pins holding the motor and gear drive. Went back in with bolts.

I got the motors here, front and rear tilt seem to be the same.

Thanks Gents, when I try to use any of the functions beyond fore and aft i get nothing, at least nothing I can hear or feel. My initial thoughts were that it was the motors or switches but it didnt seem likely theyd all fail at the same time unless it was a fuse or something, but then th efore and aft wouldnt work either i wouldnt think though I havent looked at the wiring diagrams to be sure I seem to remember that they worked when I bought the truck (used) but I dont remember for sure

thanks for the suggestions, I didnt get to it yesterday but I hope to make some progress today.
