Airbag Recall Notice for 2003
I just received the airbag recall for my 2003 ram and it's for the passenger side airbag. I thought the issue is with the steering wheel mounted airbags? Anyone else received this type of recall notice?

I've moved so much it's unlikely any recall will reach me. I can say this -- my front airbag doesn't work! I T-boned a woman in a Ford Ranger a few weeks ago (25-ish mph impact) and the airbag did not deploy. Totalled her truck. I just got mine back yesterday, looking very nice.

R&R Estimates?
Does anyone know how long it is going to take for them to remove and replace the passenger side airbag? Will they have to completely remove the dash? If so, just think of all the new rattles we'll have after the fact!
On the bright side, if they do have to remove the entire dash, I might be able to save some money and have the HVAC door or motor replaced. It is stuck on the upper vents. No heat to feet or defrost.

This has evolved into both sides in my world. The driver's side bad was included about 5 months after the passenger's side. It only took about 2-3 hours for both but I had an additional problem that cost me about $180 out of pocket. When I picked up the truck and drove off the air bag light came on. I called back and they said bring it back. Seems the light in the passenger side on/off selector had burned out. According to 2 different dealers once a code is tripped, even for a bad indicator light, both bags are disabled.

I find this Dodge recall policy very annoying. These recalls are only for trucks sold in Florida, Hawaii, Virgin Islands, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Guam, American Samoa and Saipan. Every truck they made in those years have the same fault, but they are not including them and I fall in that group because my truck was sold in Wisconsin. There is no way Dodge knows that these other trucks have not experienced the same amount of heat and humidity since they were sold.

2003 recall notice
Well after waiting for several years and a total of 4 airbag recall notices I decided to visit World Famous Fisher Dodge in Yuma, AZ. yesterday, Monday March 6, 2017 to see what was happening. A very pleasant young lady at service looked at the recall notices and said "we are looking at September for the parts". Problem was she didn't say what year. Maybe it will work out time wise as we usually get back to Yuma for the snowbird season in late September. But I'm not holding my breath! I wish I had dated the original notice when I received it.

Honda must know someone. Our Pilot's were both done shortly after the recall. Huge amount of vehicles out there needing the repair but a fraction bother to show up.
My 2007 Dodge's driver's side was done with no issues. I did notice that my EFI OCD11 pass-through was disconnected when I got home.
