I Stand Alone

I tow a 4 horse gooseneck with living quarters. My right foot is pretty heavy. I am going with EGR delete, Full turbo back exhaust, and gauges. If I have any money left over I will delete the throttle valve and intake heater.

Who has the best tow tunes? and which tuner? for towing. It would be nice to get a little tranny tuning in as well.

Will you’re kind of late to the game. The EPA has shut down two of the manufactures for emission controlled delete tuners/programmers such as H&S Min Max and Edge electronics. Both have been heavily fined by the EPA, Mads Electronics (Smarty) stop selling the ME software and tuners in the US; they still sell tuners but they are emission compliant now.

That leaves only two that I know of and both are manufactured outside of the US; one is RACE-ME (no experience on this model) the other is EFILIVE which just in the last couple of years started to support the Cummins engine. This is a highly respected tuner for the Duramax engine. So I would look into the EFILIVE tuner has this seems to be the latest and best delete tuner for the 08 Cummins engine.

Now I would be very suspicious of a used tuner on the market for sale unless it is guaranteed that it is un-locked and can be used on your engine.

EFI Live is the way to go. Go to the Cummins forum in the performance section for 3rd Gens and talk to Phil (3Broce) of Anarchy Diesel or (Dave Matthews) of Draconian Diesel. They will hook you up. Dave Matthews also does trans tunes. Trans tunes are not part of EFI Live but a separate deal. Just talk to them,,, They are some of the best in the business.

I Stand Alone

Ordered my deletes from Anarchy. EFI Live CPS5 switch, Insight CTS, EGR delete and Turbo Back exhaust. Finished install and other than missing the step to disconnect the throttle valve all went well. I contacted Anarchy and got my questions answered almost immediately. Hardest part was disconnecting the stainless lines form the exhaust with out breaking them.

Have not yet towed but the truck runs great.
