Turbo choices these days, s300sxe/FMW

I haven't been on here in a long time, but figured I would reach out to everyone for a little help choosing a new charger for my weekend driver/tow rig.

The truck is an 05 NV5600 with a smarty jr on the 100hp setting. Have all the usual guages, 5" exhaust, dual disc etc. as well. I have no immediate plans to do injectors due to the low mileage on the rig (55k miles). I am 100% set on doing a 2nd gen manifold setup with whatever turbo I go with, I also have no problem looking at new tuning options as well if there is anything newer/better for the 05s these days. Curious what everyone's recommendations are for keeping a nice quick spool, making some fun usable power, towing on the weekends, etc.

Been reading about the newer s363sxe a little, but also been told an s463 is the way to go, any thoughts/feedback would greatly appreciated. Would love the truck to make 550-600 some day even if it took some fueling upgrades down the road.

What are the specs of the 363 and 463? Also you wont gain anything from a 2nd gen maifold swap. It only changes the sound.

Honestly I am not sure of all the various configurations that is why I wanted to post the question to begin with. I am open to all versions of s300sxe and or FMW variant. My guess is the 62 or 63 will suit my needs best based on long term HP goals. That video posted above was just for fun being a good running single turbo 5.9. As for the 2nd gen manifold, I know there is not much to gain other than sound and looks under the hood. This truck is a weekend driver/toy for me and I can't stand the way it sounds with the third gen manifold.

Quicksilvr:

Your choice of the S363 would be good, but don't rule out the S-300's as you mentioned. On my 2006 Dodge CTD CR I had an S-300 with the 62mm compressor wheel and it worked great for me with the 50-100 H.P. injectors. At the time, I was using a "hot" Smarty Programmer "stacked" with a "TST
PM 3" which worked very well, however, you have more options now with
the EFI Live options. FWIW, I towed alot with my 2006 sometimes in the mountains, so I wanted a package that would work good there and what I had did very well in those conditions.

Hope this has helped you some Sir.

Have you looked at what Austin Tate at Taterbuilt Turbochargers can build for you? I went with his 62/65 for my daily driver and have been very pleased so far with its performance - I'm sure he can customize something to suit your needs.
