Getting ready for turbo install.

Finally got my s-300 the other day ! Majestic Turbo here in town told me the wastegate was set in the ballpark of 30-35psi. My question is that I tinkered with the wastegate rod and shortened it to actuate the gate around 45 psi.....will a 62/65 be able to handle it or should I reset it to 35-40 psi? I'm gettin' real antsy waiting for a nice day to do the install. Size wise it looks like it will be a huge improvement over the stocker.

Well, from what I have researched. I would not go above 42 lbs of boost withought getting head studs. The problem is that the stock head bolts may strech causing a blown head gasket. I recently installed ARP head studs, +100hp injector nozzles, TS Performance MP8 and a new turbo. I wired the wastegate shut (have not ran the truck yet) i will see what the boost is at when I get my new clutch. I will keep you up to date.

I have a Silver 62 and have had it set at 45lbs since it was installed.. Truck has factory bolts and I have had no issues to date. Approx 40k on the Silver 62.. Had the stocker running at 38lbs for most of its life prior to upgrading to the Silver. Stocker was still working great when I removed it with 98k on the truck.

Best of luck with your new turbo..
