Yep. Decreased hp and a left over 47re's My friend special ordered his.
Another friend bought the HO in Yuma the same year with over 7500 miles and got it registered here legally.

SO and HO were designations for 2004 and prior models. The 2004.5 came with a 50-state engine (325hp/600lbft) WITH a cat. If I were you, I would get the VIN and decode it to find out exactly what you're buying. You should certainly have no issues registering/smogging a 2004.5. I do it every 2 years. Just be sure the check engine light is not on (better yet to clear all hidden codes as well) and, if it's supposed to have a cat, be sure it has one.

While it has nothing to do with smog, find out if the prior owner upgraded the fuel filter canister mounted lift pump. If not, you might consider doing so preemptively to avoid being stranded somewhere when least expected/desired.
