I installed the damper last night, I wish I read and unbolted the fan shroud on the bottom of the fan, after the install, idle was smoother couldn't hardly hear the DD clutch, while drivin all I could hear was the turbo and exhaust, very Impressed with this upgrade

Been thinking about one, just dont wanna hand over the money. plus truck has 230,000miles, so do i really need one now?

I have been thinking of putting one on my truck. I understand that it can reduce the low RPM growl in the tranny in the lower gears. Need to know for sure if it will or not.

A cheaper solution is to use the balancer and pulley off of a 6.7L.

I got a deal on one yrs ago. I finally had it along with a new belt installed after chucking my dmf. Very noticible improvement in idle smoothness. I can't really say it reduced gear noise in mine.

the 03 is not as noisey as the 06. we added the fluidamper to the 06's but did not on the 03

Diesels need all the harmonic protection they can get. I stuck on on mine, and there isn't near the vibration.

Has anyone done this yet? I heard it wasn't direct bolt up.

I've heard it's a bolt in, but the 6.7L pulley must be used with the 6.7L dampener. If the part for the barring tool (mounted inside the pulley hub) is used longer bolts will be needed, if not the original bolts can be used if in good shape.

But what's the cost of a 6.7L damper from the dealer (if that was your only option) compared to buying a Fluidampr? 6.7L Fluidampr's are going for, what, almost $600, depending on who you buy it from?

I have done the 6.7 damper upgrade, cost was under $300 for the standard 6.7 damper. Cost is about $500 for the 6.7 HO upgrade.

The parts needed are the 6.7 Damper and 6.7 fan pulley, I also put in new bolts but didn't add the barring tool.

The 6.7 damper made a nice difference, and my OEM damper was still in great shape. It smoothed out low rpms incredibly, there is no longer any vibration from the clutch, and I can just barely hear it. It made the motor quiet enough I now hear a tinge of timing rattle, something that I haven't heard since doing a turbo swap.
