Just replaced mine at 84,xxx miles last month. I pulled radiator at 50,000 miles or so to blow the grass seed out and changed antifreeze then. I don't drive my truck much but it never got hot and the weep hole on the old pump was crusty and not letting alot of coolant out. no drip just orange staining from belt slinging it around. When i got it pulled out and spun it by hand, no doubt it was shot.

just changed mine out @130k with the Geno's Garage version (gates I think)... I did it as preventative maintenance, when I replaced the entire cooling system, hoses, pump, thermostat, pulleys, belt ..etc..
I had no leaks, but I was running hotter than normal..

My '01 started leaking last week at 139.2k, but to be fair I was hauling a dump trailer with about 10k+ of dirt. All day. 22 m round trip so 11 m loaded running 70 mph about half the trip and 55 mph other half. Also have my welding rig up on it too. It hasn't failed just leaking. Hopefully it holds out till next week when I get a week off.

88k and it leaked briefly today so I stripped hoses and flushed radiator. Replacing all hoses, pump and T-stat. My service manual states 24 qts. of coolant. That can't be right. Ain't that like 8 gallons? I only drained about 3 gallons when I pulled the hoses. Haven't pulled the T-stat yet so maybe there is more in the block but shoot, can't be that much. I only bought 2 gallons of anti freeze.

Well seafish that's what I get for using Jethro's ciphering method. Why I was thinking 8 gallons I don't know. Not only was I suspecting some left in the block, I never got the radiator drain plug to flow when I turned it 90 degrees left so there is still some in the lower part of the radiator. I back flushed it out the inlet hose nipple and tomorrow am going to flush the inlet side by stuffing a flexible hose in it and pushing the contaminates up and out. Thanks for the correction and the info on the block. Once I pull the pump more will come out of the block I hope. Gotta get more antifreeze tomorrow. :-(

Just changed mine out at 100,189K after it started marking the garage floor. Did a complete flush plus a new T-stat. Pump from Geno's, T-stat and Zerex HOAT from Napa, distilled water from wallyworld.
