water pump routing

All,

I started a 1995 Ram 4x4 restoration project, and have swapped the auto for an NV4500.

There is what seems like an "expansion chamber" under the exhaust manifold that hooks up to the water pump. Is this for cooling the auto transmission, or does it serve another purpose? I'm eliminating everything associated with the auto transmission, and methinks this is for the aborted auto.

Thanks from a novice!

Auto trans cooler, do not need it with manual trans. Do not forget to install pilot bearing with the replacement manual trans.

There's a line that goes to the water pump. Just plug this?
