In August I hooked up a 42 ft 5th wheel toy hauler near L.A. and took it 2277miles to Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan (way north, look it up). The only concern I had was getting over the grapevine. Outside temps were over 100 in SoCal that day. I had roughly 545k on it at that time. I'm still running the original injectors, injector pump and turbo. I'm glad your concerns were for naught.

With 203,000 miles on mine I drove 3500 miles pulling 9000 lb trailer, no problem.
You can have problems at that mileage, of course, but its usually something like alternator, air conditioner, or battery related. Of course, parts can die at any mileage.
Make sure nothing is acting up before you start! Thats the key. Most items will begin to show abnormal signs sometime before they croak. So, do maintenance, pay attention to things not right, like alternator sometimes not charging normally, vibrations, etc. If nothing seems abnormal, you are good to go.
Have an enjoyable trip.

I did this exact thing in an 85 Ford F250 with the 6.9 diesel a couple years ago. Never had a worry about that truck, and my CTD is solid compared to that thing. It had 255k on it, and showed it's age, but didn't leave me stranded at all.

To echo a previous post, I would check the U-joints, and would certainly stow an extra fuel filter. I am hoping to do close to 10K on a roundtripper to AK next summer and am looking forward to it. No worries.

I have 168k and routinely run between WA and NM (1500 miles). Last time the transmission went out in Hawthorne NV after a $9k transmission install/conversion 11 mos before. Things happen. Most stuff was covered under warranty except shipping and labor and the plane ride back and forth to the repair shop.
Never get stuck in Fallon NV without transportation

I have 213,000 miles on my 97 and have only had it for a couple of weeks, I wouldn't even hesitate to take it to Florida and I live in Idaho! 213,000 and still as solid as a rock.

The trucks made it 175k miles whats a few thousand more gonna hurt, I wouldnt be afraid to do it just as long as everything was in good shape mechanically. I always say "I bought it to use" so if I wanna go on a 3000 mile trip I'll go on one. It might not be a bad idea to bring along a few tools with you just in case something would happen though.
