Fuel Gauge issue
Bought a 94 12v 3500 today. Fuel gauge showed close to empty so i filled it up. It took 6 gallons and was full. The gauge showed full and the fuel was up the filler neck. Any ideas on why 6 gallons goes from empty to full? Its got a 35gal tank.

Yeah, sender worn out. Some say easier to pull off bed, I just dropped the tank.
You should be able to run about 500 miles to get the fuel level down under 5 gallons then release the fill neck and overflow hose, two tank strap bolts and tilt to release fuel line connections. a floor jack and 18" 2x12 works nicely....

I never run it below 1/4, so I'm not sure, but at 1/4 I'm adding about 25 gal to fill it, which means about 11 gal still in there...and when I fill it I run it up the neck, so maybe more than 36 gallons...

Don't forget to order a filler neck tank seal when u order the sending unit. Mine ripped apart when I dropped the tank, which delayed the reassembly. Seal was about. $8. Extra
