Front rotors!! Just venting!

Need to vent a bit...

Just spent 9 hours changing one rotor! Just changed the drivers side front rotor, tomorrow the pass side! Poor truck lived in Rust City, WI for 9 years (so did I)... but the **** thing was broken in two, the discs had literally separated from each other while she sat in storage for a year or so. 185K of crap roads and snow, then laying up for a year did things little good.

9 hours = .5 hour removing the wheel and brake caliper, 8 hours removing the rotor, .5 hour putting it all back together. After trying EVERYTHING I could think of to get the rotor loose, a full can of PB, dead blow hammer, small hammer pecking at it, jack screws from the caliper clamp, heat, chiseling out the rust at the hub, lots of fussing and cussing, the last resort oxy/acetylene torch to the floating ring that had separated, then cutting grooves in the rotor face with a sawzall and then the BFH. Think I'll just start with the sawzall and BFH tomorrow.

Anyone need a slightly used rotor?

SOOOOO glad I moved to Louisiana!

Tried that with a piece of 2x4, still wouldn't budge! But I did get the pass side changed today in under an hour with the sawzall and BFH. Looked pretty much like pictured above.

Next weekend will be the rears just for good measure.
