engine dies when you put in drive the truck

Hi folks, I have this problem I have a 95 dodge ram 12 valves, the idle is ok, but when you change to Drive if you no press fast the gas pedal the truck die; the rpm in parking is 500-600rph.
Any Idea, can just adjust the rph

Idle should be ~750 rpm in drive with a/c on, around 850-900 neutral.Turn your idle up!

Hard to say, the stock converter shouldn't drag it down too much, I would set it at 900ish in neutral, then test in drive.

The AC isn't going to cause a drop in RPMs in neutral.

Is this a 12v or 24v? Because adjusting the idle on a 24v is not advised because you'll easily change the parameters of the APPS, and there's a TSB about this problem which I believe is fixed with a re-flash.

Do you think this problem is caused for old fuel on the tank?

Nope, usually just time and wear on the linkage. It can also be low injection pump pressure, dirty fuel filter, clogged pre-filter, bad lift pump, bad overflow valve, but usually just a simple adjustment..........

The throttle linkage wears a groove in the idle adjustment bolt over time so the idle drops...usually it doesn't take much more than turning the adjustment bolt 90 degrees to bring it back within specs so it no longer lands in the groove worn in the bolt head.
