Hello all,
I just purchased my second Dodge 3500 with a CTD. It is a cab and chassis. I did not know at the time that the pickup beds would not fit on the cab and chassis (go ahead and let's have a collective STUPID). My question is can I cut a bed in two and add the neccessary length from a second bed? Or do I just need to add a flatbed and be done with it.
It is a 2wd dually with a box and appears to have some type of lift or height added all the way around. Thanks in advance for all the help on this matter.

The cab/chassis has a 4wd front end without the differential in the middle. The rear is higher due to the build.

Might be simpler and cheaper to have the frame sectioned so the bed will fit.

I would go the flatbed route. There are a ton of companies that make all kinds of beds for the cab/chassis. Especially if it is a work truck, get one made for exactly how you want to use it.

I'd look into having the frame sectioned as well.

We do this all the time with OTR trucks. Usually taking bunks off and stretching frames to allow the fit of live bottom boves, flat decks, etc.

Shortening should be easier.

(You'll also have to shorten the driveshaft) but again, better than lengthening.

If it's a work truck, a flat bed may suit you.

For a daily driver though, you'll probably want a box.
