RedHead Steering Gear
In the summer of '15 the steering gear on my '95 began to leak badly. With 350xxx on the truck I decided to spring for a rebuilt steering gear. The place that installed it said it had a full 1-year warranty. Whoopee. What could possible go wrong? Well THIRTEEN DAMM MONTHS after they installed it it started leaking badly. The auto parts place that sold it wouldn't warranty it, but the shop said if I'd buy the new box they'd install it for free. OK. I ordered a RedHead steering gear. I've put some miles on the RedHead now and I LOVE IT. The truck steers better than it did when new.

Same on my 01 when the OEM got bad I ordered one from Red Head and it came quickly the purchase, core etc all went very smooth. I thought it was a good quality unit. I only put 80k or so on it before I sold the truck last month but it was still working fine.

Yep, at 210K the box on Greenie is getting shaky. We put a Redhead on my buddies truck last year and it impressed me.
Even me being a cheapster, I am getting ready to plunk down the cash.
After many years on here, the stories of standard rebuilds dying an early death become monotonous......
