After market bumpers - sourced in Canada ???
Hi Guys,
I am sure someone else has asked - I couldn't find answers when I did search funtion.
I have been giving serious consideration to replacing both bumpers on my 2002 dually - they are way too flimsy. One good slide on an icey or wet road could net $3,000 in repairs at the front (air cooler, radiator, a/c condenser, tranny cooler etc) - not to mention what a deer or moose could do !
I am interested in Canadian sourced (BC and Alberta) heavy duty bumpers. The US made ones are nice but with customs, freight and brokerage fees, the cost just zooms upwards.
Anyone know of good place to buy in BC or Alberta - that won't put me in the poor house? Would I be better off making my own - which is what I am starting to think - depending on the cost of the steel.
Thx

Depends how fancy you want to get. I made my rear bumper out of a 10' piece of 8" channel and some checker plate. Could very easily make a bumper for the front like that if you added in some tubing for a grille guard.
There is a guy on ABDiesels from Brooks who makes custom bumpers. Its just a side thing he does, so turn around isn't quick, but he does excellent work, and I think his prices are a good bit less than other bumper guys out there.
