Add Air Conditioning???
My dad has a '96 2500 ctd 5Spd, without air. He got a great deal on it at an auction two years ago, but is now wishing he had air. If we can find a similar truck at a wreckers somewhere, how difficult would it be to add the air to his truck. Is it worth it, or should I tell him to forget about it?

Big job but can be done. Usually a different heater box, different controls, wiring, vac lines, a/c lines, evap, condenser etc. I have converted a couple of trucks for people. Just make sure you get a good donor vehicle, as the little parts will nickel and dime you to death at the dealer. Oh yeah have patients. Good luck

don't mean to hy-jack but...i have the same situation as his father and was considering the same. how long of a job is it really from start to finish? why does the ''entire dash '' need to come out? what years of truck parts would work with his '96 or my '97?
