2001 diesel no buss no gauges please help

2001 diesel no buss no gauges please help

i have 2001 ram 2500 diesel 6 speed 29,000 miles its been sitting inside for some time i start it from time to time runs great it was my baby now its a *****. i noticed generator was not charging i thought easy fix NO codes on odd are 921 920 no buss no gauges abs , trans, fuel lights up ccd on overhead display and two of my code readers will not link but they get power. tach works . i testest generator works fine, batterys are fine, i tighten gounds all over there eveywhere pulled many plugs and fuses checked fine put elec. grease on them , did the oddmeter check all gauges work fine pulled oddmeter out all plugs look like they just came out of the factory (29000 miles) the only problem i ever had was few times my rear brake lights would go out fuse was bad i dont know if this has anything to do with it.i need some ideas i dont what to start replacing parts please help thanks

Almost sounds like an ECM failure...Check all the connections at the ECM and the condition of the wires. You could have a new tenant that moved in on you and needed some wire insulation for his bed...

When my '02 had the same type of issues it was this plug. I simply removed it, blew it out with air, and stuck it back in... that was 5+ years ago and not an issue since.

Yeah, I'm thinkin voltage drop due to bad connection...IF the batteries are good.....

I found my problem to be a loose connection in the plugs going into the dash You might also read thru here:

almost fixed

well i was thinking it was my pcm bad i sent it in to sia electronics $122 found them on ebay. they found my pcm had bad main processor on the board the only thing they cant fix and they sent $108 refund i was very happy so i ordered pcm from different seller i well post later when i find out

update

just wanted to update just pluged in the new pcm i just got. fixed most problems but trans light, abs light,and brake light are still on my oddometer i might be sending pcm back to the seller. let you know later

fixed

problem fixed trans light went out as soon as i pulled out of garage and it took two or four times starting and driving around the block about 2 miles each trip and my abs and brake went out. all fixed on more problems . the pcm i bought from ecu exchange(thank you) for $270 shipped and programed to truck . i hope this helps somboby else because this was a pain.
