Transmission problem... Help !

Greetings gents, I am having an issue and wanted to get some advise as to what might be the problem. Here are the symptoms:

If the truck sits for a while, maybe a week or so, I will start the truck, let is warm up for a minute or so. I shift into reverse or drive and it will eventually begin to move. the engine speed races, but the truck moves very slowly.

If I drive the truck daily it is seems to be ok...

Any ideas ? Torque converter shot, pump ? Any ideas would be helpful...

Also I recently had a trans tuneup done...

Normal, your check valve in the trans has failed, the TC is draining back.

As soon as you start it, stick it in neutral, wait half a tick, and then try reverse, bet you find it right away.

Most all of them will do it sometime in the life of the trans......

Yup and standard on many aftermarket trannys. Just wait it out until the fluid gets back into the TC.

Yup... you guys were correct... I also found my front tranny lines were a bit weepy and the rear tranny seal is oozing.. will get these fixed next week... Will a transmission shop be able to fix the check ball issue ? I read somewhere that there is a kit that can be installed that fixes this too...

Yep, they can fix it, it just never bothered me, as soon as she fired, I always just stuck it in neutral for a second, then drove away.
