Hey whats up just wondering why I cruise around in town my tranz temp go up to almost 180 then on high way doing 70 it drops bck down to just under 150 now I have a ats tranny and the truck is a 99 cummins 2500 6.1 yeah it was a 5.9 until board and sleeved

Your torque converter is a fluid coupling which causes heat - thus not in lock up (around town) your trans will be hotter than in lock up (highway). Sounds perfectly normal.

Thats what I kinda figured another question with a ats tranny it does not have the accesses cover up by fly whell and converter it wines pretty loud but goes threw gears quick and having a gov pressure to high cause it to rev high and then shift about twenty moles per hour then shifts quick but it also feels like its only hitting three gearshitting it at like 40 45 maybe 50
