Tranny Shifting Up and Down
I have a 99 2500 with a 47RE, 145,000 miles. My tranny seems to be shifting in and out of overdrive right about 45 mph. The APPS has been replaced about 95,000 miles. Band adjusted with a calibrated torque wrench recently to no avail. Could this be a battery cable problem and if so, why? Any info would be appreciated..

I see this is your first post, welcome. This is a common problem and there are many posts on it. Your problem is probably caused by electrical noise. Clean the battery terminals, clean (down to bare metal) the ground connections under the battery box. Replace batteries if they are bad , do a load test. DTT sells a noise filter for $40 that fixes many trucks. Good luck.

I wonder if the RPM is too low at 45 mph and the engine needs to shift up to maintain speed. The kick-down function would come into play and change gears so it doesn't lug the engine. It seems that 45 mph has been a trouble spot on many Dodges as my 1500 gasser had a bad shudder at that speed.
