Tie rod loose?

I can grab tie rod bar and I can move it (left side/drivers side) Is it supposed to move like that or should I replace them?

Not supposed to, you might want to consider since you have an 01, the upgraded T style factory kit ( 2008 or so I think? )

That way you start all fresh with a better design, and it wasn't outrageous the last time I checked.

Silver R/T - ditch the ebay add before the mods see it and ditch it for you with a scolding, they are against the rules

The tie rod knuckle should be tight, but allow it to swivel on its end to and fro, just not rattle areound.

Sorry, I couldn't come up with a better description...

That's what it does, it pivots (ball joint) but its not loose as in I can wobble it around.

That is the normal range of movement for a tie rod end.

If you can feel a gap in the movment, its shot.

Yea that's it, but the price sure has went up............

And yes, you should have no side to side slop, if all it is doing is rotating on the ball, but otherwise tight, you are still good.

Reason Im asking is Ive installed lukes link and urethane bushing on stock track bar-major improvement since then, also installed DSS but I still feel a bit of wandering at higher/highway speeds.
I was thinking upgrading steering box next.

Check it out first....

My truck seems to settle down a bit with the stock E rated tires on it. My D rated mudders track a bit but my steering box is good...
