p0382 grid heater ckt b malfunction
got the above code on the truck today. any insight before i start digging into it? my first guess is a grid heater relay failure

That would be my first guess as well. IIRC I had the same code several years ago and it turned out o be the relay. Cant remember which one is A or B though.

I had the same code for about a year. replaced it this last November with a bigger better IMO. from larry B's . if you never heard of him just google larry B's contacts. he makes nice rebuild kits for starters, Alternators and bigger Grid heater relay's. He has alot of goodies for 12v and 24v. the price wasn't to bad for what you get.
If you dont have the money right now and living in a area that is not going to get cold much more the rest of the year it likely wont hurt your truck running it like this. The job wasn't bad to do. Just a pain on the back and knee's leaning over and up in the air on my lifted truck.
