no power at first start up

I have a 2001 2500. When I fisrt statup in the mornings, I have no power. I can push the throttle all the way to the floor no changes. After about a quarter mile down the road all power comes back. I put a pressure gauge past the fuel filter. at idle 14/15 psi, wot 9/10. Does any one have any suggestiouns.

You do allow the truck adequate time to warm up to operating temp before you head out down the road right ?

If it won't rev at all it could be the APPs/throttle pos. sensor.

Is the APP/throttle pos. sensor hard to change or is there a way to reset?

There is an apps reset procedure. I will see if I can find it using search. If you are watching this, maybe ry the same. If the apps is on its way out, be sure to replace it with a Timbo APPS. Timbo is a guy who is on this board and who makes an upgraded app that is cheaper and better than the stockers and it is super easy to install and calibrate.

on all years of Dodge cummins prior to 2007.5 pre egr/dpf (pre emission).
they can all be ran with a straight pipe without causing a issue. no tuner needed.

cons.

louder than one thinks.
if you require a smog check of anytype this may or could make you not pass with missing muffler and or muffler and cat if equipped.

pros'

sounds great. some cooling egt's , better spool up with turbo.
