I love my fuel gauge
Thanks to my awesome fuel gauge, I ran out of diesel
My gauge showed 1/4 tank remaining, never even tripped the low fuel light. Luckily I had just made it to work, my engine died 10 feet away from my parking spot as I backed into it.
I tested my instrument panel (hold the odometer button and turn the key to ON), and the gauge tested good. I've done a little research on the forum and learned about capacitive type fuel senders. I am considering switching to one of those since there are no moving parts.
Has anyone had to fix their fuel sender, and has it held up? The last thing I want is to be towing our camper and running out of fuel.

My original worked fine, then I had an intank pump warranty repair, which is a slightly different type of sender than the original.
When I did the FASS I had to return to the original pick up tube/sender and it is working fine, however it hangs on F for quite a while before plumetting to half for a while, then again down to 1/8 tank where the light comes on.
By the way, my in tank pump era gauge said under 1/8 tank with light on and it had about 5 gallons in it when I dropped it, about right 8 times 4.5 is around 36 which is what my tank holds...
