Goerend 47RE Trans Issues, PLEASE HELP
I have a 2002 with a Goerend 47re that was installed in april 2012 at 83k miles. I had the trans serviced (partial flush and bands tightened due to low line pressure) at 133k because there was some down shifting hesitation when pulling a grade. 1100 miles I lost all acceleration and power. The motor would rev up not the truck would not go anywhere so I had to be towed home.
The shop I took for service has it back now and checked the line pressures which were in the 30's then dropped below 10 when put in gear. They then dropped that pan and I was told there was pieces and shards of brass/copper all over the place and the screens/filters were clogged with those pieces.
I am looking for any suggestions for a cure to this issue or is my trans completely smoked?
I have a bad feeling I am going to get hosed on this deal because the warrenty from Goerend was 3 year or 400k miles. There is only 51k miles on the trans and I do not drag, sled pull, off road or drive like a moron. I simply pull a 20 foot jon boat or an 18 foot trailer with 2 4wheelers.
I am beyond frustrated with this and very disappointed
Any professional input would amazing
Thanks fellas

Well, it could be something rather minor, like a bushing that has wandered out of the case and got smashed.
Depending on how long you drove with a lack of pressure and lubrication in there, there can be other damage ranging from nothing to severe.
I would call Goerends and talk to them, maybe they will do some courtesy help even though you are out of warranty.
(It can't hurt to ask, especially if you stay courteous and friendly)
After you talked to them, I think it will be necessary to remove and tear down the transmission to be able to inspect the parts, and go from there.
Good Luck!

I'm confused, how can a slack band adjustment cure low lone pressure?
I second the call Goerend and talk with them suggestion, I have found them to go above and beyond more than once.
Sadly, I think you are right though, at the minimum you are probably going to be pulling the trans.
