Getting close to a can of gas and a match

I have a 99 dodge ram 2500 v8 4x4 that has been leaking transmission fluid from the dipstick and or the transmission pan. Ive already searched all around the transmission and honestly cannot tell if its just the dipstick leaking or the pan or BOTH!! What would cause it to leak from either and what/where do i start???

Yep, noted for leaking at the stick to case seal.

Get that and the reusable pan gasket from Chrysler, used to be big $$ but I think they saw the light, anyway, rubber sandwiched steel core, seals GREAT and you can reuse it for the life of the truck.
