47re fluid change or flush
Went to get atf+3 for my fluid change today but all I could find was atf+4. It says on the bottle "replaces atf+3". So I picked up 8 quarts of the atf+4. Hopefully I made the right decision? Now, with what I assume is atf+3 in my tranny now...should I just drop the pan and put in the atf+4 or should I drain the whole system to get a complete atf+4 change? I know I'll need more if I do the complete change. Something like 16 quarts?

I purchased a VB from DTT, and they included a copy of the Chrysler recommendation to use +3 for all Chrysler transmissions; When I bought the 10 qts of fluid for the change, the guy at Schucks told me to get +4, and showed me the note on their computer saying that +4 superceded the +3 fluid. I'm holding off using this until I get in touch with DTT - sorry, I didn't help you, but I have the same question!

You can use it
Marky Mark,
here is the TSB on the subject. It looks like you should be fine. I am sure someone else will chime in as well.

Thanks for the replies. That TSB says that the +4 can be added to the +3 so I should be Ok.
Kragen had the Valvoline ATF+4 for $3.49 per quart and the +3 was the same price.
