2001 dodge 24v engine revs wildly/ aux. 5 volt too low/apps voltage too high
Hi, I was driving the truck when the engine started to rev uncontrollably, then the pedal went dead. Was told it was the APPS. Installed new one from Geno's Garage. Truck still does same thing. Throwing codes. p0343, p1286, p1488, p1492 ,p1693 I have no idea where to start. Any help would be greatly appreacitated.

My truck would do this when my edge ez was defective. I did not discover what the problem was until after I had replaced my VP.

I had a smarty s-03 on mine. I took it off and still same problem. The truck had 360,000 miles on it. Have a banks exhaust brake and a Fass fuel system on it. Other then that the truck is all stock. Engine will sit and idel great till you just touch the pedal. Then it revs wildly.
Thank you for you help guys

ECM controls the idle, so if you are using anything that influences it like a proggrammer remove it and see what happens. If it doesnt change i would suspect a ecm issue.

So riddle me this...My trucks throwing the apps codes 0122 and 222 it will run fine then go nuts. Today coming home the exhaust brake wont come on then it was idling at 1500rpms, I unhooked the quadzillia box and nothing changed,I have tested it and every thing runs fine in cruise control so I dont suspect its ECM. The apps on my trucks a timbo thats probaly about 5 years old and has a little over 100k on it, is it my apps again or is my ECM on its way out?

Please for the love of god if you figure out what the problem is let me know!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!! I have the same issue but with the added issue of the volt and temp gauges going crazy also. I've replaced the ECM 3 or 4 times checked all grounds removed the comp. GOOD LUCK! Buy the way mine is doing it so bad that it is un drivable. As a test I direct wired my injector pump and it would idle smoothly.

on the road again!!!!!!!!!
ECM was fried because the alternator had a bad diode. replaced alt and ECM truck now runs and drives. only remaining issue is the voltage gauge dropping to zero and check gauges light coming on. the alternator also fried one of the batterys
