'02 24v cranks but wont turn over
My '02 5.9L with 219k took a dive on me. I brought her up from a tow away to being a street legal machine. But yesterday I noticed a lag in power at higher rpms. The term bucking floats around a lot which seems accurate. Then her idle started acting up. Sort of the lame lag when I was at idle. Finally she had no power and was blowing tons of white smoke and is now not running. She cranks just fine but wont turn over. My guess is fuel starvation. From what I've read it could be the vp but I'm no expert. Any feedback?

First, get any codes, since you have an 02 you can use the key trick to get any codes.

patdaly is right on about the codes because it could be a gazillion different things. My `99 had a similar issue and thankfully mine was a bad crank position sensor. With mine though, the tach would drop out shortly after start (when it would start) but then come back in after I goosed the pedal. It would also idle rough momentarily as if it was starving for fuel. Hopefully you will find it to be anything but that dreaded VP-44. $$$$

So I bled the fuel lines and got her to start again. She runs and drives but the idle is still rough. I pulled the IAT and cleaned it hoping that would fix something but I'm still not seeing a difference. She runs and drives at least I haven't taken her on the highway to see how she performs at higher speeds. mainly because I don't have the means for a tow if I get stranded again. 90% of the codes I'm throwing are automatic tranny codes. Mines swapped to a manual so I'm assuming its throwing those just because but I'm not finding an exact solution.
