I picked up a floor mounted high beam switch that I'd like to use for a o/d switch. I have a 47rh and I'm tired of toggle switches. My only concern is its a 3 wire switch. Only 2 wires will be in use. I know people talk about using these for o/d switches hopefully someone can help me out

If I remember right, blue is the center tap and the tan and green are high and low beams. Should only need to hook to the blue and green or blue and tan wires to work.

Do you have a VOM? If not, easy enough to wire up a cheap light bulb circuit to test.

Yes I do. The switch has to be grounded to made o/d work. So if I put the signal wire from the trans to the center wire of the switch and then ground one of the other wires, should work?

sounds right to me that way the switch is either grounded or open.

Yep, should be all you need. Tape the other wire out of the way...........
