Thank you everyone for the kind words, and best wishes. Will pass them on to my daughter.

She's already talking about another dog....but actually being near another big dog might be different. Don't think we will do another rescue dog though, a puppy that we can be certain of it's breeding and blood lines, and can train from an early age.

IMO, a puppy is awesome, but still no guarantee of behavioral issues. I had a customer who had a Lab that she pad big money for. As a puppy it was fine. As it got older, it got more and more aggressive. After it put me in the hospital, the same thing happened to several other people. It used to rip the other dog in the house apart quite often too. I had been around the dog since it was a puppy, and it still bit me. Ripped open some kids face, and it was immediately put down. 4 times it bit humans before they euthanized it. It came from a well known breeder.

I will always look for a mix breed puppy, from my experiences, as they're healthier and less issues otherwise.

Godspeed to your daughter's health....

I agree on the mixed breed T-man. We grew up with pure bred Rotties...never an issue. But have had lab mixes in the past as well and I felt they were a better all around dog to the pure breds.

If we do go with a mix breed, at least I can know what breeds are actually in the puppy...less unknowns. But just like any other animals...some just turn out to be A-holes when they grow up. You never know.

I just figured out why my old PS pump seemed a little lazy....just pulled the small internal filter/screen from the high pressure outlet on the reservoir...plugged virtually solid! Was going to toss in a reseal kit on this one...but will clean the screen, then put it in the shed as a spare.

Just read about your daughter, TC, and I feel bad. Hope all ends up as a no big deal memory one day, even though it's a disaster today. Hope she gets fixed up and enjoys the holidays and new year. She looks like a Trooper. Now, J Martin, you're scaring me with that story and that freakin' Kung Fu grip of yours.... Pit bull choked out holy camole!!!

To the (expletive) person who sneezed in my face 3 days ago, I wish to thank you for the horrendous head cold. Teaches me to stand in line at Walmart at 0430 in the morning I guess.

Spent the day playing with the dog and having fun with the two cats. Good relaxation day, but not what I had planned...Off to find the little green pills......

I don't think I left my property yesterday because of all the nut jobs out there. Crazy man..

Wife made me put up lights today, and then we took the dogs to the park. Shepherd and beagle just turned 14 in August, and the little punk CKCS is half their age, but tires easily. WE go to the abandoned tennis courts and let them run about. Spending every moment possible with them, as I can't help but feel we're on borrowed time because of their age

Nice day though

I put up the Holiday lights as well today....beautiful clear and sunny, but cold.
