When running a tire like the the BFG's you mention, I would never expect to get more than 30K or 40K out of a set. Same with any All Terrain tire. Highway tires are different. They have almost no sipes and few gaps in the tread for a reason - to wear longer when traction isn't a concern.

If I can get well over 100K out of a set of semi tires pulling 100K lbs. around, why can't I get 100K out of a set of tires on an empty pickup cruising down the road? (I realize that it's not likely to get 100K out of a pickup tire. It pisses me off, put that's just the way things are I guess)

So let's just throw the miles they will run out the window. I am looking for the tire that will run me the longest - I don't care about traction or ride quality (no I don't want steel wheels).

I've known several people who have gotten 70k mikes out of BFG AT's keeping them rotated.

I agree with you on the 100k miles on semi tires but the compounds in big rig tires are not the same as light truck tires. I run 22.5's on my 05. The one thing you lose with those compounds are ride qualities. Just my $.02.

I ran the Brigstone Duravis on my motorhome and loved them, wore great and carried the very much overloaded weight very well.

Nice to hear a good review. How many miles out of a set?

I managed over 60K on a set of BFG TA's loved the tire, quiet, good traction, and didn't need balanced every rotation.

When comparing big truck tires to LT tires, its not apples to apples. Rubber compounds, side wall load rating, minimum tire pressure, etc.

And a 11R24.5 has a circumference of about 139 inches vs a LT235/75R16 with a 94 inch circumference. So that little tire makes more revolution per mile than the big one.

If you want the performance of a big truck tire, get the 19.5's or 22.5 wheels and run a big truck tire.

Just my $0.02
