I just ordered a shifter stub for the Getrag 360. The item says that it fits the 1990 and later trans. What is the difference in the 1989 shifter? Also there is supposed to be one that is threaded and another that isn't. Which does the 1989 have?

89 has threaded, which tends to split , later ones have bolt on which is better , but i like early style better, but harder to find

FWIW: Both of my 91.5 trucks have/had the early style, threaded, shift lever and stub. I also believe that the threaded style only has a straight lever (which I prefer), and the bolt style only has the curved lever (shorter folks seem to prefer).

Thanks guys! Mine is the straight stick also and I have long arms. The current stub has been welded on and since I'm buying a rebuilt trans I wanted to get the unmolested shifter stub.
