Have you pressure tested it and sprayed soapy water on all the boots? I found a bunch of pinholes in mine when it looked like I had no boost leaks.

you start this post with " I put on a new hx35 turbo" now we know it is not a hx35, just some thing that looks like a turbo charger. we do not know what brand or size. we need FACTS, not guesses about what it is. if it were a hx35/12 we have some pretty good ideas about what pressure it should be making. BUT, now we are guessing because you are guessing what turbo you have. ignore all advice given so far. tell us WHAT BRAND and MODEL turbo you have. then we can come up with some better trouble shooting ideas.

One other thing, you say you have a boost gauge coming, do you also have an EGT coming?

If not, no way in heck would I change ANYTHING until I had reliable EGT readings.

You can burn that thing down right now.............

as far as I know Holset is the company that makes hx35/12 turbo. if it is not a Holset, I fail to see that it could be a hx35. tell us what brand and model it is. then we can help

now we have the product description, let`s have the brand name. I have a sneaking suspicion that it is a Chinese knock off. and all bets are off.

Since the '94 and '95 auto OR manual 12Vs DID NOT come with HX35s, I am guessing this is some company PRETENDING to know what is up and selling knock off turbos.

I think we found your problem.

Put your old turbo back on ,install some gauges and then start your with your planned power mods.

Can we get a link to where you bought it from? I guess I missed that it wasn't a genuine hx35.
