new w350 and some Q's..
Hi all! New to the site, I picked up a new to me 93 w350 with 108k. Bought from the original owner and even still have the window sticker lol. I've got a few questions on the turbo, is it a h1c or a hx35? I'll post pictures to enjoy. The pump is turned up and 4" exhaust turbo back.
Oh and 12 new tires!!

The turbo has an ID plate on the front that says what it is. It appears to be either a WH1C or an early HX35W judging by the wastegate and v-band clamp on the compressor housing.

Do yourself a HUGE Favor...
Inspect behind the fuel tank, and all along the inside of the frame. These trucks rot out in the frame's midsection behind the fuel tank due to poor priming / painting process at the factory. Junk/ debris gets up in there, and that little plastic edge guard on the lower c channel causes them to rot inside the plastic.
Good luck with the new ride. Looks like a keeper..

WH1C my friend! To the best of my knowledge all HX35's had the big C clip (snap ring) holding the compressor housing on. My understanding of Holset nomenclature is that, internally, HX35 and WH1C are the same. Biggest difference is that the WH1C has a V band clamp holding the compressor housing (front part) on to the cartridge (middle part attached to the manifold) and HX35 has a giant snap ring. Many later HX35's had a 45* exhaust elbow instead of a V band clamp short outlet back plate. The WH1C is virtually identical to an early (94-96ish) HX35. However, both HX35 and WH1C had multiple compressor wheel sizes (55-58mm). It can be hard to know what you have w/o actually measuring it.
And because I can: Cinncinatiiiiiiii WH1C...
Lemme know if you get the reference.
Oh and welcome to the club!
