New Extension housing to tranny mount adapter

When I took out my t-case recently to replace 5th, the square adapter came out in pieces.
I had welded it before, but this time it was toast.

So I went to our local Metal Supermarket (yes, it is a real place) and found some thick walled 3" square tubing and had them cut to 5". Just drilled 4 holes and bolted on.

I got four on them cut. They are at least twice as thick as the original so hoping it lasts for the duration!

Jeez, looks good and sturdy Mark. Hope that's not your blood splattered on the ground?

Cheers!

Was that the AA pieces that cracked up on you? I know mine seemed a little on the weak side. Something I will have to watch out for I guess.

Yeah that AA boxed spacer I used on my black crew looked cheesy to me.
Maybe I should check my closely for cracks too.
Nice looking upgrade.
You would think for the cash AA charges for their parts, they could give you a decent piece of steel block for that spacer.

Every picture I have seen of other's rigs had the thin walled spacer.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is "AA"?

Advanced Adapters the company that makes the Getrag to NV-4500 swap kit that includes that cheesy, gold plated, thin walled adapter.

They also sell that '92-'93 Z-gated shifter linkage to work with the NV-4500/NP-205 that we had to pull the trans 3 times to modify so it worked like it should.
I also upgraded the bolts they included to bolt the 4x4 shifter linkage into the top shifter cover with longer, stronger bolts.
I was less than impressed with the AA kit.

Been so long since I did the conversion I forgot that part wasn't original! I was cursing Dodge for cheaping out like they did on the steering box bushings...
