Interior Door Panel and Trim Repair Questions

I have some pieces of interior trim that are cracked. What is the best way and/or "glue" to fix those cracks? My door panels also have 2 cracks. Can I use the same "glue" or something different since it is different material than the trim? Speaking of the door panels. Has anyone had success painting those? Would just like to spruce them up. Mine are the maroon ones. Thanks.

I like using JB weld epoxy and metal window screen for repairing cracks. I also rough up the backside with 80grit and clean with alcohol before buttering with epoxy then window screen then epoxy.

For paint I like krylon fusion for hard plastics and dupli•color for fabric and soft vinyl. I have heard SEM paints are very good though and plan on using them on my Cuda door panels

I use DuPont vinyl dye. Holds up very well to usage. Here is my drivers door panel just before I installed it.

I did respray all my interior plastic's except my console. I wasn't sure how the DuPont would hold on that hard of use item.

That's a good link. Interesting how they used the bed liner paint for texture.

I have several trim pieces that have cracked. But my worst problem is the door panel trim on top where the sun hits it is decaying. Don't know if paint can fix that or just delay the inevitable. Maybe I could cover it with some kind of tape for protection?

I like the idea of screen wire for reinforcement gyman.

Am I the only one that has to screw back in the trim screws every couple months or so due to vibration? Guess I could locktite them huh.

You could use loctite but if your holes are just worn out a little piece of small gauge copper wire (solid) in the hole before the screw goes ok will make it nice and secure again.

I asked a similar question on here a while back. Someone mentioned ABS plastic cement (for plumbing) and strips of gallon milk jug to repair/reinforce the cracked area.

Philip:
What type of prep did you do to the door panels before paining it? Type of cleaner? Primer? Thanks. Your door panel looked great.
