Injector replacement- oil around them?

Injector replacement- oil around them?
It sure looks/smells like oil around the injectors in my 90 cummins. How would that be there? Is it possibly just diesel fuel?

It could be diesel fuel easily enough.
If it is oil it could easily be from leaking valve cover gaskets, which are pretty common.
