he351cw questions

I just finished up my 351 swap and have some questions about boost/egt. With my old HX35 at 70mph i was seeing consistent 7lbs boost and 700° on the Pyro. With the 351 in getting 6lbs boost 750°. What gives, i thought this 351 would see more boost and lower egts

I see about 6-8psi at 70 and 6-750EGT. Mash the throttle and then tell us the comparison.

You may also want to adjust your afc differently than the hx35 liked.

How is the gate kept closed?

Do you have ANY exhaust leaks?

Gate is fully functional with aadjustable boost elbow threaded into a solenoid plug from Diesel Auto Power. No leaks

JFYI, to get about 40 lbs. of boost you want zero psi going to the wastegate actuator.

Wastegate is shut tight. Have not hit a high enough pressure yet to open it up to verify functionality. once i do i will adjust the boost elbow for the pressure i want. This turbo sure is quiet compared to the HX35. That one screamed every time i shifted. Can't even hear this one

The silencer ring still in?

I have a factory air box and a 4" DE. It is quiet without having the silencer ring.

I wouldn't sweat it. One of the reasons I bet money on for the 1lbs difference in regular driving is due to the larger and more efficient wheel. The 50* greater EGT may becoming from the open housing vs the divided/dual scroll housing of the HX.

All of that is negated at WOT when the HE351 cools better and supplies more air than the HX.
