gear selector adjustment
I pulled out my dash (didnt disconnect anything, just needed to get behind it)to install my guages last night and when I put it back and put it in gear, it now seems to be off by about two spaces (i.e. reverse and neutral show up as park in the dash and drive shows up as reverse and so on) is there an adjustment for this or should I be looking for something hung up somwhere? Thanks

Re:gear selector adjustment
I did the same thing. Just bend the tab back to pick up the slack. Might have to do it a couple times until the organge thingy covers the correct gear. Just be glad it didn't come loose. Not that hard to fix, just hard for a guy with big fingers. That cable looks like a sewing threading with a coating. Not much too it.

Okay, now that the tab has popped loose, where does it go? I was working at night and could not seem to locate where it went.

I can;t tell you exactly where it goes, because I didn;t pay that close of attention. But the only thing that should be able to come lose is the cable. If your tab is loose I would say you broke something. Hopefully I am wrong.

Re:gear selector adjustment
the tab is still firmly attached to the cable, but not sure where it goes on the column, I have an idea, but I'm not 100 percent sure, and neither of my books mentions it at all, (still trying to find a factory service manual) I'll take a picture if I remember and post it later.
