Gas to diesel conversion.

I have a 93 Cummins 2wd automatic. I was looking at a 92 w250 gas automatic. Would I need anything? Would transfer case work?

To do it right you will need to take the guts from your diesel 2WD overdrive section and put them in the gasser 4WD one.

Technically you could just swap them, but the planetaries are beefier in the diesel one.

The gasser tranny is a lighter duty, and different bell housing, but if you combine the two...as long as the gasser tranny is a A518, or 727, then you should be OK. The lighter duty transfer case on the gasser tranny will work, but for how long is the question. There was a reason they used the grenade proof NP205 with the cummins.

Did they use the NP241 in 3/4 ton gassers?

I thought it was only in the 1/2 tons.

I know I have seen some W-250 gassers with the NP-205.
