I think the only thing that is not DOT is the Heim joint's when they use them for street I would Do Crossover before going to any other set/up the factory stuff is junk sorry
Right. And there's many ways to do crossover steering with 1-ton TREs instead of heims.

Upgraded my tires to a 255 85 16. It filled my wheel well better, gave me more height and improved my ride even more.

That does look great.
Do you think your truck would clear 285/16's, it's a little wider tire on 8" wide wheels?

They more than likely would being that the 285's have a smaller overall diameter than the 255's. The rims on my truck are a 7 inch so the 255's were more effective for my application. I wanted to stay with the highest and most narrow tire available. According to the specifications, I think that a 285 would be pretty well pinched in on a 7 inch rim, weakening the side wall, creating excessive wear and giving me a wider tire and height loss which I didn't want. Below are the factory specs.......

255 85 16 is 33.3 inches high.......10 inch section width on 7 inch rims

285 75 16 is 33.1 inches high.......11.3 inch section width on 8 inch rims

I can tell by looking at it, it would clear a 315/75 (35") much less a 285 hahaha. Mine doesn't even sit that high and it clears 35's. Looks good.

what do you have in the back to raise it? a block, or did you get custom springs?

The truck is stock with factory 6 inch blocks but all that is going to be gone next year. My plan is to eliminate the original spring pack, factory block and long u bolt and replace it with no block, shorter u bolts to prevent axle wrap and a new set of custom springs built by the same company that supplied my parabolics on the front end.
