Cleaning out the garage and found a 3 gallon container of used peanut oil from a thanksgiving turkey fry from 5 years ago. Ok to put in fuel tank, in small doses?

Not unless you filter it. Giblets don't fit through the injectors! New oil, I dumped 5 gallons of fresh on top of 1/2 tank fuel in my 98. Only thing different, I got hungry smelling the exhaust....

By "filtering" he also means (or should I say especially) water from the oil. Bad move to introduce water into your fuel.

Ok, thnx, got enough info to say no go. Not going to waste time and money on filters to make use of 5 year old pnut oil just for the sake of using it n possibly introducing poo poo to my fuel system...see, stupid post it was!!

IMHO, it is not worth making a heater to burn 5 gallons of oil.
I would just use it as bonfire starter, AKA "Liquid Boy Scout" - like MrFusion mentioned.
I call it that, because you feel like a Boy Scout starting a fire in the rain with the help of a little used cooking oil.
It probably doesn't rain as often in Cali. though.

Oh yeah...I forgot you're in The Peoples Republic of California. You'll probably end up in prison for having a bonfire. Ditto on the non CARB approved waste oil burner if you get caught. Thanksgiving is almost here. Use it fry another turkey for those neighbors you don't like!

While cleaning out the shop, I found 3 turkeys that have been in there for who knows how long. Tool them down to the homeless shelter.

Being frozen, supposedly good for a year. My wife throws stuff like that out, even if it's good dog food. Nothing is too good for the dogs, I guess.

frozen turkeys make really good target practice.
as for the peanut oil, i'd pour it through some cheese cloth and straight into the tank. i'll bet you a paycheck that it runs through with absolutely no problems.

. Paychecks, eh? That's a chancy bet.... Specially not knowing what one makes. . I like the confidence though, especially the sureness that 5 year old pnut oil would still fire up in the tank

It would fire up in a waste oil heater for sure lol! Just imagine a stove but instead of wood there's a steady stream of free oil dripping in and burning... It is really that simple and no it's not dirty! It actually produces far less smoke than wood; as far as actual emissions who knows but one things for sure: free/cheap garage heat is stupid nice! There's plenty of online info if your actually interested just type in diy waste oil burner on google or ozzoie(or something like that) there's loads of Info online... And if your worried about smell in your shop.. Well if you have the proper draft there isn't any...
