down shifting smoke`
A recent 3000 mile haul my truck (with a heavy load, 9,000+ 3000 in tow)started smoking whitish blue on some long downgrades. Looks like unburnt fuel I think. The truck following got fumed out. One hill I litteraly laid down a smoke screen and my ETG was near 150 . Accelerating would restore normal ETGs and clear up the exaust right away.
My valves are at least 150k overdue for adustment, Im thinking my valves are not closing or maybe some of my injectores are weak.

I'm thinking valve guides or rings are worn.

The fuel filter has been awhile. It can use a gallon of oil over the course of an oil change, maybe more. Been like that for some time.

Check the hose from the intercooler to the intake manifold for oil. If it's wet, the turbo is leaking. If not, probably your rings are shot.

With the EGTs at 150 on a long down grade it was just wet stacking (pumping unburned fuel through the engine). Other than washing down the cylinder walls a bit it doesn't hurt anything. Maybe next time try a lower gear and bring the RPM up some to keep a little heat in the engine.
