D60 Front Brake "Upgrade" Article
Found this on a Chebbie site. Goes over front brake mod to reduce unsprung weight. Reduces brake torque though (rotor diameter smaller and caliper piston forces less). Just an FYI as it would apply to the w250/w350 d60. Less brake power not good in these rigs in my view.

Remembered seeing this... thought I probably could make something similar (and lighter) in my shop without CNC

I don't think that that article that SeaW250 posted up is an "upgrade" for our CTD trucks. He is down sizing the caliper, rotors and other parts to loose weight, and make a better pedal feel for his small MC and booster in his small rock crawler buggy. No where near the weight and hauling capacity that our CTD trucks are know to see.
Not what "I" would ever consider doing. But the article and pics u2slow posted up would be a proper upgrade. IMO.

That is going backwards. If bigger brakes don't work good smaller ones will be worse. The guy that wrote the article had a master cylinder/booster problem not a too big caliper/rotor problem.

Exactly. A simple bore change with a different MC would of fixed his pedal travel issue. But his rig sounds like a light rock crawler so he does not need all the brake power and extra weight. For what most people here probably use w250/w350, as I said, this swap is a bad idea.
