Broken Mirror. Telescoping Tow Aftermarket

Hi,

I put my thumb through my mirror, fun trip for stitches afterward. Anyway, I need to fix or replace. Any idea on a source for a new mirror that telescopes out for towing? LMC has a factory replacement only.

Or should I try the glass shop to cut me a new one?

Thanks!

Some people have put 2nd and 3rd Gen tow mirrors on there trucks. Usually requires welding a mount to the area over the vent windows. Personally not a fan of that set-up.

You can look at my build thread and see the tow mirrors I just put on mine. Just recently done, so should be only a few pages back.

Thanks Trashingcows. Right now, I want to just replace what I have. These have a set screw and extend about 4 inches. I haven't been able to find them. I am definitely not going the 2nd or 3rd gen route.

Those are after market mirrors. They were sold for chevy trucks. NAPA used to sell them. I did some google work and didn't find them on line anymore. Those came out in the late 70's.

Yeah I haven't been able to find them either. It was cracked by the PO back in 2001 and he couldn't find any replacement then either. I will look into new glass.

Glass shop can cut you a new part. I have replaced convex mirrors with flat that way.
