Bleeding air after IP reseal

Bleeding air after IP reseal
I resealed my pump today.
Cant get any fuel to show up at the bleed screw above the filter.
Ive cranked and cranked.
Used the lever on the lift pump.
Nothing.
truck ran fine yesterday, even with a leaking IP.
Also: The priming lever on the lift pump feels like it is doing nothing. I know it has to be on the high spot of the cam, but even there I only feel a very slight spring back/resistance. Doesn't feel like its moving fuel at all.
Any other ways to get some fuel into the system?

If you turn the engine over about a half revolution and there is still nothing when you operate the fuel pump lever then the fuel pump is bad.
The injection pump will sustain itself once it is full of fuel but the rotary pump does not do well sucking air trying to pump fuel.
My truck ran fine one moment until I turned it off at a fast food drive through and then wouldn't restart.
I always have a spare fuel pump in stock.

I'm having the same problem. My hand pump was working great before i pulled the IP and I have good pressure. I've prolly pumped it 300 time with no fuel... I can't get any fuel through the air bleed. Did you have any luck???

Yes. I replaced my lift pump with one of those carters. I thought mine was fine but I put a new one in anyway just to eliminate the possibility... I got a tip from a local diesel mechanic to pressurize my gas tank AND VIOLA! I started getting fuel to my air bleed. I pumped until there were no more air bubbles then tightened down the bleed. I pumped again till I saw fuel at the injectors but now Im loosing pressure at the pump. I'll have good pressure at first then it weakens. FYI i was trying to electric start in between my failed priming to the injectors? I was also bumping the tire (tires in the air, all four in gear and in 4x4) to build pressure by bumping the cam... could this damage anything? Could pressurizing my gas tank damage the lift pump in some way?

Had the same problem.
Frustrated, I sprayed starting fluid at the turbo intake, it took a few seconds for a rough idle then smoothened within 15 seconds.
