The plate is cracked and the frame is cracked. The frame was welded once before in the same area about 15-ish years ago. It's not broken in two, just cracks near the forward upper bolt hole as I recall. Miraculously, the clutch is the original. It isn't perfect, but it still drives fine. The trans is good too, no noise and all synchros are good as of the last time I drove it several months ago. The a/c should work as well, it always has so I don't think anything has changed.

Good day, Crashnzuk:

If I recall, didn't this truck have larger balloon 33" tires on 16.5 highly offset rims? Was this why the frame cracked.

Yes, it had 33/12.50/16.5s on 9.75 wide wheels with 5" of backspace from the day after it was delivered until about 4 years ago. I think the cracks are from low speed or no speed turning more than from the tire/wheel combo. It has had the 235/85/16 transforce m/t on stock 16x6 wheels for the last 4 years give or take. Travis..

Cool, had to reference this post from mysteryman aka terry elders over on Tdr. The other guys said that they've seen cracks on stock wheels too. Lots of weight over the front axle to be turning the wheel whilst stopped to be sure.
