hi guys been searching on here and just can't seem to find a problem like mine! Like I said just bought a 97 3500 232,000mi. 5spd. The problem I'm having is it's very sluggish on acceleration. It doesn't start as good as I think it should saying that because I have a 95 also. But it will fire faster with common foot on pedal! It idles fine, no blow by, and very little white smoke on 40 degree start. The problem comes in when driving. It takes off fine and is not really noticeable in 1st but when you go to 2-5 and get on it over 1/4 pedal it like dies out but if you just keep holding it the turbo will boost and it will go but as soon as you let off the pedal and fit back on it, same thing dies out! Now if you let off the pedal back to 1/4 it's seems to be running fine!

What ive done
changed fuel filter and pre screen was hoping that was it, but no luck. The screen had some black gritty sediment but not a lot and fuel filter was a little black but not as bad as I was hoping for. Any help would greatly be appreciated worried I bought a costly problem?

Might want to change the over flow valve. It is a common issue with these trucks as they get older.
